Haystack Gateway 1.0 featuring Semtech's LoRa®
Haystack offers completed gateways featuring Semtech’s LoRa LPWAN radio for developers seeking to deploy HayTags or integrate Haystack functionality into their products or product lines. Initially available in the 915 MHz frequency band, Haystack gateways are ideal for asset tracking and other wide-area, low power mobile IoT use cases. Gateways include WiFi connectivity for easy access to any web browser along with a 2,900 mAh lithium battery to allow for use while on the move.
Currently in beta, Haystack gateways come pre-loaded with Haystack’s OpenTag DASH7 firmware stack for LoRa as well as a basic browser-based geolocation and configuration application.
LONGEST RANGE • AFFORDABLE • SECURE
Superior Quality of Service
Haystack’s fully bi-directional networking stack allows for state-of-the-art error LDPC correction and Automatic Receipt Requests (ARQ’s) that enables large performance gains compared to other LPWAN gateways. Haystack error correction can result in longer range, lower power consumption, and/or fewer dropped packets and increased Quality of Service.
Operating at 915 MHz, Haystack Gateway 1.0 offers unmatched indoor as well as outdoor signal propagation.
Supports Low Power GNSS/GPS Location
Utilizing the unique multicast features of DASH7, HayTag supports real-time geolocation via GNSS/GPS without the conventional rapid power draw of cellular- or satcom-based GPS devices. Transmitting an assisted GPS datagram from the gateway in order to provide the HayTag with orbital information, time to “first fix” is typically 2-3 seconds compared to unassisted GPS which can take up to minutes for the first fix. HayTag uses a u-blox GNSS/GPS receiver.
Mobile Ready
Convenient
Onboard WiFi makes configuration of gateway parameters as well as commissioning new endpoints simple. Each gateway includes a built-in browser-based geolocation and configuration application. Developers purchasing this gateway will receive access to the app’s source code and some limited documentation.
